İlk Görüşte Aşk / Love at First Sight

İlk görüşte aşka inanır mısınız? Ben de başıma gelmeden inanmıyordum ama aşık oldum hem de ilk görüşte aşık oldum sonra da ondan başkasını gözüm görmez oldu. Bir ay boyunca her gün karış karış Altınova / Ayvalık'da gezmediğimiz, girmediğimiz yer kalmadı, canım kocam her gittiğimiz yerde gözlerimin içine bakarak "beğendin mi?" diye sordu. Başımı salladım iki yana "hayır" anlamında, "beğenmedim, sevmedim çünkü ben başkasına aşık oldum, hem de ilk gördüğümde aşık oldum".

Ben ilk görüşte aşık oldum, yüreğimin en derininden gelen ses bana "burada mutlu olacaksın, burada yaşayacak ve ihtiyar olacaksın, onu yakala" dedi. İşte ben bu toprağa aşık oldum.

Toprağımız / Our Land

"5 milyon İstanbul'lu sizin ile aynı hayalleri kuruyor" dedi gelecekteki komşumuz, "biz yaptık ve çok mutluyuz" dedi ardından. Çıktık tekrar gittik, içindeki ekine zarar vermeden kıyı kıyı en ucuna gittik, bir de bu yönden bakalım der gibi. On dakika sonra Erkan "Çiğdem biz burayı alalım" dedi, başımı salladım usul usul evet der gibi.

İçimiz kaynıyor ya, gittik sahibine, dedik "tamam alıyoruz, ver elini sıkalım, anlaşalım", ikimizin de gözlerinde sadece birbirimizin görebildiği göz yaşları, sevinçten, mutluluktan.

Bir gece hadi gidelim yıldızları görelim dedik gittik, yıldız şöleni varmış meğer, biz görememişiz şimdiye kadar, ışıktan, şehirden. Karanlıkta biraz ürktük, "yaşar mıyız böyle" diye geçti aynı anda ikimizinde aklından ama sesli söyleyebilen Erkan oldu, "yaşarız ya, elektrik diye bir şey var" yıldız görmek istersek şalterleri indiririz. 

Aldık toprağımızı, alana kadar geceleri zor uyuduk, tatlı tatlı heyecanlandık, sonsuz hayaller kurduk.

Aldık toprağımızı, alır almaz gittik yine, "sen bizimsin, şimdilik de olsa, var olduğun sürece bizi de yanında tut, mutlu et çünkü biz sana iyi bakacağız" demeye.

Şu anda üstünde mısır ekili, Ağustos sonu gibi ekin kalktığı zaman, tam ortasına yürüyeceğim ilk defa, kollarımı açıp, sarılacağım ona, tam kalbinden ve kalbime doğru. Teşekkür edeceğim ona, Erkan ile beni kabul etmesi, sevmesi için ve "sana aşığım, sen de bizi sev, n'olur" diye fısıldayacağım. Duyacak biliyorum, sevecek bizi, hissediyorum.

İki insanın aynı zamanda ve aynı şeyi arzu etmeleri kadar güzel bir şey yok, eşim ile kendimiz ait bir toprak üzerinde yaşamak istedik. Sağımızda, solumuzda insanlar, trafik, bağış çağrış bir yaşam bizi yordu. İstedik ki, duyabildiğimiz sesler kuş sesi olsun, tavuklarımızın gıdaklaması ile uyanalım, köpeklerimizin havlamasını duyalım, ağaçların rüzgar ile hışırtısı müziğimiz olsun. Tüm bunlara kavuşabileceğimizi düşünmek bile ikimizi derinden heyecanlandırıyor ve artık hayaller kuruyoruz.  Toprağımızı aldık, artık yerimiz yurdumuz belli, olmak istediğimiz yere gitmeye çok az kaldı. Biraz daha sık dişini derler ya hani, sık dişini.

En Yakın ve En Yeni Komşular/ Our next door neighbours

Do you believe in love at first sight? I didn't believe it before it happened to me, but I fell in love at the first sight. When I first saw this land, the deepest voice in my heart said to me, "You will be happy here, you will live here and you will be old here just grab it”.

We walked around everywhere and every day in Altınova / Ayvalık nearly a month. Where ever we go, my dear husband looked into my eyes and asked "did you like?". I shook my head, meaning "no", "I didn't like it” No because I am already in love to another.

"5 million people from Istanbul have the same dreams as you," said our future neighbor and he kept talking, "we did it and we are very happy," he said. We went to land again, went to the end of the shore without damaging the crop in it, as if to say, look from this direction. Ten minutes later, Erkan said, "Çiğdem, let's take this place," I nodded.

We went to the owner and said, "OK, we'll take it, give your hand for a shake, let's agree" with the tears that we can only see in each other's eyes, from joy and happiness.

One night, “let's go to see the stars” we said, we went to the star feast, unless we could not see so far, from the light, from the city. We were a bit frightened in the dark,. We have same question on our mind "do we live like that?". Erkan dared to say loud. "yes, of course we can live, there is such thing as electricity, if we want to see the stars, we turn off the switches.

We got our land finally but until then we slept hard at nights , at the same time so excited and we have endless dreams.

After all paper worked done, we went to our land again, "you are ours, please keep us with you as long as you live, because we will take good care of you."

Right now when the corn is planted, like the end of August, when the crop is lifted, it's the first time I'll walk right in the middle, open my arms, hug her, right through her heart and into my heart. I will thank her for accepting and loving me with Erkan and whispering that "I love you, and please love us too." I know, she will hear us, she will love us, I feel.

It's so good two people wanting the same thing at the same time, we wanted to live on a land of ours. Big city, lots of people, traffic made us very tried. We want that the sounds of birds, wake up with the chewing of our chickens and let our dogs bark. We want to hear our trees rustle with the wind. Even thinking that we can achieve all of this makes us both deeply excited and dreaming now. We've taken our land, now our place is certain, we have only very limited time to go where we want to be.
